Green Wrasse - Black Wrasse - Peacock Wrasse

Wrasses: I saw at least two types of wrasses, the merle wrasses (Labrus merula) and the green wrasses (Labrus viridis). They are both very rare and have more or less visible blue spots; the merle wrasses have a turquoise blue border around their fins and tail. It's a blessing to see one of these beautiful fish!

Peacock Wrasse (Symphodus tinca): The male has very pretty colors, yellow, red and blue. The female is browner with a reddish stripe. I often see her in an upright position as in the photo.

Film: Black-headed Wrasse swimming at La Croisette

I only had one chance to film this fish. You can clearly see the blue edging of its fins and how it moves among the rocks.
